Why I Love It
Tessa's Notes
Don't get me wrong- I love living in the heart of the city, but occasionally I need a quiet night where I can escape the regular hustle and bustle, and just enjoy a nice, peaceful meal with some friends. Short of driving out to the countryside (which stresses me out just thinking about trying to fight the traffic), it's rare that my serene night out is exactly what I'm dreaming of....
...Enter M Restaurant at the Morris Hotel, a gem among the food establishments of Philly that is just what I've been looking for!
Today's Coup lets my Girls celebrate your very own Girls' Night Out:
- $29 for a "Girls' Night Out" Special including Two Signature Pearl Vodka Cocktails, One 3oz Cheese Board, and Two Signature Plates ($58 Value)!!
M Restaurant is Philadelphia's best kept secret (or at least it was until now, because I'm telling you girls- you HAVE to go here)! Everything about this place seems magical, from the majestic garden setting to the bright and colorful food presentation. The menu changes daily, and they always serve what's in season, so the food is at its peak of freshness for the best flavor possible. (You know what they say about spa treatments being good for your body, mind, and soul? This food is good for your belly, mind, and mouth!)
They start with the best ingredients from small, local farms, then use classic technique, modernist cooking, and their own creativity to design dishes that double as art. Everything is chosen for its beauty and vivid flavors for layers of taste and texture that make each dish both satisfying and memorable! Whether you're going out with the girls to sip some signature cocktails and nibble on a selection of cheeses from around the world, or for a weeknight dinner with your family, or even a fancy and sophisticated date, you girls can sit back and enjoy the warm atmosphere and high quality food!
Every Tuesday through Friday, they have a live Jazz band playing that you can listen to while enjoying a Signature Dish. These plates include Soups like Sunchoke Veloute with Pumpernickel, Dill, Cured Salmon, and Cucumber; Sides like Green Salad with Citrus Supremes and Grapefruit Pith Vinaigrette, Home Made Goat Cheese, and Beets; and Main Entrees of Smoked Oysters with Black Pepper, Crème Fresh, and Mignonette, Butternut Angolotti with Chicken Sausage, Cranberries, and Almonds, or Braised Oxtail with Potato Terrine, Parsnips, and Charred Scallions. Girls, once you step through the wrought iron gates, you'll be transported from Center City to a charming town in the South of France with a lush garden, twinkling lights, and water fountain.
It's the greatest escape possible from the hustle and bustle of the city, and you don't even have to leave town!

(out of 5)"I went with my wife on Valentine's Day... It was really wonderful...the room was warm and intimate, reflecting the historic nature of the building, but not overwhelming. The service was flawless and friendly. And the food...it lays down a real challenge to the many great restaurants of Philadelphia...both tasty and adventuresome. Come before the reservations take several months!"

(out of 5)"New tasty menu, beautiful setting, impeccable food presentation, our entrees were delicious and served timely by the ever-friendly staff, quality was well beyond expectation, and the new chef . . .came out to greet us, sharing some OMG appetizers from the kitchen. This is the ideal place for a quiet dinner with a cool nighttime breeze blowing through the restaurant courtyard (a setting that reminds one of a small town in France) - great for any special anniversary dinner. . ."

(out of 5)"This was a wonderful restaurant with delicious, inventive food that was beautifully presented. We went during restaurant week and had their fixed price menu. Everything was perfect - flavorful, fresh, with a really interesting take on ingredients. . . The new chef infuses the dishes with his own style and is clearly a perfectionist, right down to the smallest vegetables I've ever seen! The owner came by to visit the table, always a nice touch. She is delightful, as was the wait staff. If you've not been to the restaurant recently, you must try it!"
