Why I Love It
Tessa's Notes
As my mother always says-there’s nothing a nice glass of wine can’t fix…
Alright, Girls, I’m about to let you in on my latest obsession in the form of a brand new wine and cheese bar in the heart of Downtown Miami (and the perfect spot for a cozy brunch on Saturdays)! The weekend should be about relaxing and lounging around, right? So do it in style at Kork Wine and Cheese, where you girls can have a delicious brunch in an atmosphere that will make you feel like you′ve stepped into a French Chateau′s wine cellar (Toto, I don′t think we′re in Miami anymore...but it′s okay, because this place has wine, and lots of it!)
My Girls can choose from the following brunch options for Sangria Saturdays at Kork Wine and Cheese:
- $12 for Unlimited Sangria or Mimosas, a Sandwich Platter, and a Dessert ($25 Value)
- $15 for Unlimited Sangria or Mimosas for Two and a Cheese Platter for Two ($30 Value)
Sangria Saturdays are held every week from 12 to 4 p.m., but Kork also has live music throughout the week and regularly scheduled happy hour mixers, wine tastings, and other special events. This hidden cavern, which has been featured on Deco Drive, is tucked away in the middle of the city and is also opening Avenue D Jazz and Blues Lounge next door, which will showcase some really great artists!
Kork is like a little hidden gem that will transport you girls straight to the 16th century in France from the moment you step through their intricate iron doors! The interior is cozy and warm with wood paneled walls, hardwood floors, and granite counter tops, and it boasts an underground wine cellar that used to be a bomb shelter back during the Cuban Missile Crisis! You girls can choose which level you want to dine on, either street level in their dining room, or downstairs in the cellar, and try one of their many varieties of cheese to pair with your unlimited drinks!
This is what I like to deem “taking the edge off a crazy week” because you girls can sit back, relax, listen to some live music, and enjoy all the Sangria or Mimosas you want (Hello perfection?!) Kork also lets you try any of their wines, buy a bottle (or two) to take home, or buy a bottle to enjoy there for a small corking fee. And just in case any of you girls over-indulge (it’s okay- we’ve ALL been there!) you can hitch a ride home on the Monkey Shuttle compliments of Kork.
Not a bad way to spend a Saturday at all, in my humble opinion!

(out of 5)"I attended the Grand Opening party last night. I must say i was VERY impressed with the venue. As soon as i walked in i felt as if i had stepped out of Miami and into a local pub in Chicago. It has this great old school charm to it. The underground cellar is beautiful! Wine selection is extensive and prices are reasonable. I must say I have become a fan of Kork and will be a frequent visitor."

(out of 5)"I went into Kork last week after work, and I was so impressed . . . First of all, before even heading to the bar, make your way down to the basement. It screams private party, and the walls are lined with bottles of wine to choose from . . . We made our way back upstairs and drank some wine, enjoyed a platter of a few different types of cheese, and enjoyed the cozy, dimly lit atmosphere and great conversation with the bartender . . . I can see Kork becoming a great place for happy hour in downtown Miami, and I can't wait to go back once they really hit the ground running."
