Enter BARU Urbano and your overall "coolness" rating shoots up a few notches as you make your way through the sun-kissed, aviator-sunglasses-clad crowd of beautiful people. The décor is artsy-Cuban-tavern, and the space is nestled between the palm trees of bustling Downtown Miami.
There is a large terrace for outside dining, and inside, the modern, slick space is filled with funky graffiti and pop art murals. Remember, this is not elegant chic, this is urban-chic, which basically means that there can be a slight touch of ghetto (hence, the brightly colored graffiti and decent pricing), to remind you not only that the owners are young, hip, and fabulous, but also that you are in Miami, the most international, trend-setting seaside metropolis in the world!
Chef Alberto Bogado is famous for creating a modern fusion menu of Cuban, Colombian, Peruvian, Puerto Rican, Mexican, Spanish and Italian, and even Jamaican delights come together without boundaries for a fiesta of flavor, no matter what you choose.
On Sunday's, the brunch is reminiscent of Old Havana, with fresh tropical fruits, waiting to be squeezed into fresh juices or smoothies, outdoor omelet stations, and most importantly (not to be forgotten), the Cuban version of the Brunch Mimosa -The Brunch Mojito.
Additional top picks include the BARU Benedict, their funky take on the classic egg dish. Or maybe you have a taste for something a bit more traditional, like French Toast, pancakes, or fries. Overall, the menu is varied and large, so there's always something for everyone.
So if you want to "uptick" the coolness factor of your brunch spot, and turn brunching into an art form all its own - Snap up today's deal at BARU... because once in a while, we all like to put on a cute sundress and some wedges and pretend it's still Saturday night!

(out of 5)"Baru Urbano does an excellent job at making the restaurant a "Miami Style Cuisine". The food is great from the tequenos which are by far my absolute favorite, to the arepas, and the ceviche. Oh and you cant forget about the happy hour specials- the mojitos are amazing at Baru, best in town. The music is fantastic they play a great mix of songs there."

(out of 5)"Ive always passed by this place. I never thought anything of it but when I went in last night I really had the time of my life. It was a great place to drink and dance even eat! I had a late night snack and it was amazing. When we wanted to sit we went out side where they had tables and fans and it felt like heaven. Inside the music was amazing. Going again for sure!!"
